How to play

Start and timer

  • Your first opened cell and its eight neighbors are safe. The timer starts when you open that first cell.
  • While paused, the board cannot be changed and the timer does not advance.

Controls

  • On a computer, left-click to open and right-click to place a flag.
  • On touch screens, explicitly switch between Open and Flag. Long-press flagging is not available.
  • Press a number again once its flags match the number, and the remaining neighbours open together. Left-click or middle-click on a computer; tap the number in Open mode on touch screens.
  • With a keyboard, move across the board with the arrow keys, open with Space and toggle a flag with F.

Retry the same board

  • Retry this board returns to the same board with its first cell open and starts timing again from zero.
  • When you hit a mine, every flag placed on a safe cell is marked with a cross.

Records

  • Best times and clear counts are stored only in this browser on this device.
